Max Blomqvist is a producer, songwriter, and one half of the ambient duo Center of Attention. He also makes music under his own name, giving himself room to let go of expectations, try new sounds, and enjoy where an idea takes him.

Max studied music production and songwriting. During the pandemic, he and Lina Hallberger began making music together, and what started as something fun grew into Center of Attention. Now based in Vaxholm, they draw inspiration from the nature around them, often bringing sounds they record outdoors into their music.

In his solo work, Max has been exploring his voice more deeply, drawn to its airy, otherworldly sound. He sees the voice as one of the most personal instruments we have, and using his own lets him make music that feels unmistakably like him. He is also drawn to music without lyrics, where a voice, a sound, or a melody can mean something different to each listener. He wants to make room for people to bring their own thoughts and memories to what they hear.
