Jonathan L’Espérance is a pianist and composer from Mauritius. Classically trained and drawn to music that feels organic, emotional, and timeless, he releases his ambient compositions under the name Jonn.

Jonathan was eleven when his father introduced him to classical music. He went on to study piano and music theory and began playing in church, where his sense of purpose as a musician grew. For years, he devoted himself to performing works by composers such as Beethoven and Chopin. After taking six years away from music to study architecture and design, he found his way back.

In 2021, Jonathan began composing ambient music of his own. It gave him room to move beyond interpretation and follow what he felt in the moment. Music has long been where he turns in both joyful and difficult times, expressing things he cannot always put into words.

What Jonathan values most as an independent artist is the thought that someone, somewhere, might find comfort in his music. Through Jonn, he hopes to offer listeners a moment to slow down, feel calm, and reconnect with themselves.
